It is with profound sadness we announce the death of a family member of our parish Mr. Stephen F. Peterson (father of Foster Peterson) member of St. Thaddeus Church Aiken, S.C. and attendee of The Church of the Annunciation. Stephen Peterson died Monday July 2nd, peacefully at his home in Aiken, S.C. surrounded by Foster and his family as he went to be with his Lord and Savior. Please keep Foster, his daughter-in-law Bliss and his four grandsons, Carter, Hunter, Henry & Jack in your prayers as they grieve his tremendous loss felt not only at Steve’s home parish, St. Thaddeus in Aiken, S.C. where he had been a member since 1968, but also here at ECA where he and his wife Ginny (who died in 2016) have attended over the last 7 years. You can view his Obituary here
“May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.” Amen
His funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 14 at St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church with the Reverend Grant Wiseman officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery, and the family will receive friends in the Stevenson-McClelland building following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church Christian Education Fund, 125 Pendleton St. SW, Aiken, SC 29801 or to a charity of your choice.

Grant, O Lord, to all who are bereaved the spirit of faith and courage, that they may have strength to meet the days to come with steadfastness and patience; not sorrowing as those without hope, but in thankful remembrance of your great goodness, and in the joyful expectation of eternal life with those they love. And this we ask in the Name of Jesus Christ our Savior. Amen.

In Christ,
Father Paul +
