International Mission Trip Planned for Dominican Republic

ECA Parishioners have the exciting opportunity to be a part of a mission trip to Bani in the Dominican Republic.

All those interested in being part of an international mission trip from July 15-21 2016 please let us know. Our tentative schedule and Itinerary is as follows: We will leave July 15th on Delta and return on Delta, July 21. Destination is Santa Domingo, a bus ride of about 90 minutes to Bani.

We will be staying in a small family hotel in town and our work site, La Iglesia is a short walk away. La Iglesia is a small Episcopal church which has a nursery and a high school which are just a few of the places that need fixing up. We may be helping to paint or pave a playground area or work in the nursery. A working list will be provided to us and there will be something for everyone. Minors are invited, but must be accompanied by a parent. We will be working in the morning through the afternoon.

There are plans for a day with free time. There is a beach nearby, the largest sand dunes in the Caribbean, a nearby town that is well know for milk candies, and another area that makes salt. Bani was settled in 1764 in the Bani Valley. Bani translated is abundant water. Average daily temperature in July is 88 degrees.
