The Open Hearts Camp is a Free summer “day camp” that is being held, on Jun 17-21 and June 24-28, 2024, every Monday-Friday from 10:00 am – 2:30 pm, at ECA. This camp is being held for students in our district that have been considered homeless by Cobb County Schools.
We want to provide a fun, safe place for these children to spend quality time playing, meeting friends, eating lunch and snacks, and doing projects in a safe and fun manner. It is also an opportunity for their parents to enjoy a break.
We will provide various games, water activities, learning activities, lunch and snacks for the students who attend. To do this, we really need volunteers! These 30+ students are from the various feeder schools of Kell High School and Lassiter High School. We need student volunteers to be camp counsellors and adults to supervise and help with the activities. Volunteers would be asked to work from 9 am to 3 pm. You can work however many days/hours you would like. Students will earn Community Service Hours for the time they are at camp.
If you are unavailable to physically help due to work or other activities but would like to take part, you could donate snacks, pizzas, supplies, or money (Made payable to ECA). I assure you it will all go to good use and will be much appreciated.
