Update 1/10/17: Due to inclement weather, the Annual Meeting has been pushed back to Sunday, January 15.
Our Annual Parish Meeting is set for January 8th immediately following the 8:00am service. At the meeting a report of the parish & ministries will be made. We will vote for 3 new members to the vestry. If you cannot make the meeting and would like to vote, please use one of the absentee ballots in the narthex.

2017 Vestry Nominees
Lainey Gaines – I was baptized in St. James Episcopal Church in Marietta, GA. I was a member of the Jr. Altar Guild, a member of EYC, I taught Sunday School for many years, and was very active in many church fund-raising events. I also taught and helped organize Vacation Bible School for a few years. I have been a member of ECA along with my mother, father, and step-mother. I have attended an Episcopal Church my entire life. I am currently on the Reach Committee and have chaired the yard sale, helped to start Open Hearts, am a member of the Afghan Guild, and on the Communications Committee. I help with computer skills for the Women’s Tea and some church flyers and door hangers. I love being a part of a loving and fun church. My goal is to do God’s work in any way I can be of service.
Horace Higgins – Lifelong Episcopalian, originally from Fort Fairfield ME., and a member of the congregation here at ECA since 2001. U.S. Navy veteran who then worked for the Green Cove Springs FL Sheriff’s office, AT&T over the next 18 years and in the cabinet business the last 15. Married to Carolyn, we have three children and five grandchildren. Former vestry member, Jr. Warden and Senior Warden. I am currently active in several ministries including, Buildings and grounds, Outreach, Youth group, Greeters, Usher, Melos, Counters, Usher trainer, Intercessor, Verger, Choir, Servant Ministry, Church Development Committee and even part time Altar Guild. I take great pride in our incredible church, inside and out, and all of the challenges we have over come to get to where we are.
Tom Jacobsen – I have grown up in the Episcopal Church since birth. I actually attended ECA with my parents in the early 90’s during the Bill Swift days. After Elizabeth and I got married, we came to ECA in 2007 but left shortly after Hendree passed. We returned in 2010. All 3 of our children have been baptized at ECA. I’m currently a lector and help out with the bulletin and the FB page. My parents are involved with the church and Elizabeth is in the CDC.
Jan Samuel – I was baptized at St. James in Marietta, then spent most of my time growing up at St. Catherine’s in Marietta. I was very active in my EYC group and spent my summers at Camp Mikell. At ECA I have been the youth director and am currently on the financial committee as well as the stewardship committee. I have been married to my husband Chris Samuel for 14 years and have a 13-year-old son named Cole who is active in our EYC group.
Jane Whisler – I grew up in the Episcopal Church and have been a member of ECA since the fall of 2014. I knew from my first visit at ECA that it would be my new church home. I am currently the ECA Episcopal Church Women (ECW) chair and have worked to build fellowship within all the women in our church. I also help with St. Martha’s Guild, teach Christian education, usher and serve on the altar guild. I am married to Jack and have two children, Paige (13) and Carly (11). I love ECA and would be honored to serve on the Vestry.
